### Early Life
Ikai’s mother and father were both born and raised in [[Aurrex]], [[Xiphor]]. His father entered the military, known as [[The Xiphori Authority]], when he was young and served in many battles—eventually earning the rank of Captain (with honors). His mother’s parents were originally from [[Merris]], in the neighboring country, [[Sacria]]. Xiphori citizens did not treat his mother kindly while growing up in Aurrex but Ikai's mother was strong and dealt with the judgment. She tended to their home while Ikai’s father, Idris, served.
Ikai’s father served the Xiphori Authority for 13 years and earned the title of Captain with Honors before passing. Once Ikai was old enough, he enlisted in The Authority, and served the Xiphori army for 13 years (just like his father). During that time the Oukeme family relocated to [[Oxley]] to be closer to [[Sancton]]—the Xiphori capital city. Ikai spent most of his upbringing in Aurrex prior. Ikai enlisted as a ground soldier when he was eighteen years old. He was initially assigned to and served [[Asmaeil|Celestial Lord Asmaeil]] through his former Captain (then [[Oathwright]], now [[Warleader]]), [[Kaziehl]]. Kaziehl was impressed with Ikai’s devotion to the Authority but warned him about rushing into combat ill-prepared like many other soldiers. Kaziehl saw promise in Ikai and provided him with resources and mentorship in the arcane arts and study of the supernatural. Ikai was a fantastic student and applied his studies naturally in combat, eventually propelling him into the rank of [[Sergeant]], then [[Brigadier]] and finally, [[Captain]].
### Becoming An Adventurer
Shortly after Ikai reached the rank of Captain, he got into a fist fight with a wealthy and privileged, albeit disobedient, subordinate who reported to another commanding officer. The Xiphori have a zero tolerance policy with this sort of behavior, and it didn't help that this subordinate was the son of a wealthy, high-ranking official from another Xiphor settlement. Oukeme was barred from service for the time being as punishment for his actions.
Feeling shameful and frustrated, Ikai travelled to Palliveya to learn different fighting techniques and to further discipline himself. He enlisted in [[Ratha's Gym]] and studied under Master [[Ratha Darash]]. It was at this fighting school Ikai met [[H01. Lutie Limerick|Lutie]], [[H02. Xanpher Pear-eon|Xanpher]], [[H03. Leek|Leek]], and [[Grixis Grimblade Me'Esohonei|Grixis]]. Seeing that this group of adventurers desperately needed a leader, and feeling compelled to help find missing children (from what [[Qamar Pratto]] mentioned), Ikai agreed to join and help the [[Guiding Bolt (Party)]] party.
