Some speculate that they are descendants of fire elementals. Others suggest they were created by mæggen. Regardless, earlier forms of igira have existed on Yanis since the late Iosis Phase of Proto Yanis. Only once the planet began to cool during the Pavonis Phase did the igira return to The Plane of Elemental Fire—where they would remain and evolve for the next 500 million years. --- ### Appearance & Biology Igira tend to be shorter than most other humanoids but they should not be taken lightly. They have incredibly dense muscles and are capable of impressive feats of strength. Igira's two most notable traits are their horned foreheads that are lined with a fragile obsidian-looking bone material and their fiery, glowing eyes. When provoked or emotional, their bald heads produce flames. Albeit rare, igira can also radiate flames from their arms and torsos as well; but, these instances would only occur during extreme emotional reactions. Since igira bodies run extremely hot, they prefer to wear stone or ceramic armor. They will occasionally wear metal armor but never cloth, leather, or wood. Igira are only capable of reproducing with other igira. --- ### Species Traits #### Core Traits > [!custom-trait-locked]- 1️⃣ Fire Resistance. > - Resistance [[Combat#Damage|fire]] damage and extreme heat. > [!custom-trait-locked]- 2️⃣ Flame Heart. > - When worked up into strong emotions (such as a fit of rage), your head and body produces uncontrollable flames which can ignite nearby or worn objects. > - While your body produces flames in this way, you shed bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light an additional 20 feet, and you gain resistance to poison damage. > - A creature that touches you, or hits you with a melee attack while within 5 feet of you takes 1d8 fire damage.
