### Origin & History
As old as humanoid species themselves, reborn seem to have originated around the time humanoids first began worshiping deities. Many believe that reborn are the result of some divine mishap. They believe that while traveling to the afterlife, souls were forgotten and had no choice but to wander back to their bodies. There isn't any way to really confirm if this is truly where reborn originated; but, they certainly exist due to one ill fate or another—thus they fit nicely in this category.
It is very rare that a commoner would know about reborn. They are reclusive and mysterious like most ill-fates. Shadow reborn are perhaps the rarest as they reside in dark, abandoned areas, next are ghast reborn due to their ghostly nature, and finally, are decayed reborn—who are decrepit things and therefore more noticeable.
Since reborn teeter between being a shade, ghost, zombie, or skeleton, they are often just considered undead by most common folk.
Regardless of their appearance or reason for dying initially, they all are driven to complete some unfinished task or tasks they sought to accomplish in their first lives—their *unfinished business*.

### Appearance & Biology
Reborn come in as many varieties as there are humanoids. They can be fallen elves with white hair that glows with ethereal yapis, or a partially decomposed goliath with bones exposed reeking of mold and old earth.
Unifying characteristics tend to be pale or translucent skin, faint iridescent auras emanating from their body, and cold, lifeless skin.
Reborn are capable of reproducing but the prospect is very dangerous as there is a high likelihood the child will be stillborn.
##### Decayed Reborn
A decayed reborn is more akin to that of a zombie or skeleton undead creature. These reborn have had their souls separated from their bodies for an extended period of time—leaving much of their body decayed.
##### Ghast Reborn
Ghast reborn are closer to ghosts and are more ethereal or spectral in appearance than that of decayed or shadow reborn. They also have a ghastly visage that usually remains unseen but can occasionally slip out. This ghastly visage displays the horrific way the reborn was killed leading to it becoming a ghast reborn.
##### Shadow Reborn
Reborn whom were especially evil or twisted during their mortal lives are often brought back as a shadow reborn. This race of reborn have a difficult time completing their unfinished business as they cannot wander through daylight as the other two reborn can.
