The candle's alignment must be within one step of the deity it's dedicated to. When it is lit by a cleric or druid whose deity matches the candle, the candle burns for 4 hours, shedding bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. While the candle is lit, creatures in the bright light who share its alignment have advantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws. Additionally, spellcasters in the bright light who share the candle's alignment can cast any spell they know or have prepared at a spell level one lower than the actual slot used, once per turn. Once the candle is snuffed out, it is destroyed. A candle that has not been previously ignited can be destroyed only by a wish spell. --- ## Properties - Burns for **4 hours** shedding bright light (30 ft) and dim light (30 ft). - Creatures of matching alignment in bright light: **advantage on all d20 rolls**. - Spellcasters of matching alignment: can cast a spell using a slot one level **lower than normal** (once per turn). - Consumed when lit; only a *wish* spell can destroy an unlit candle. - Requires attunement.
