These tools are used to bypass locks, disarm traps, and open sealed containers. --- ## Properties - Proficiency with Thieves' Tools allows you to add your **proficiency bonus** to Dexterity checks made to **pick locks** or **disarm mechanical traps**. - Picking a standard lock requires a **Dexterity check (DC varies)** using Thieves' Tools. - Without proficiency, you cannot attempt to pick a lock or disarm a trap using these tools. - See [[Thief]] for the full crafting system including custom pick fabrication, bypass devices, and enchanted lock-breaking tools.
