### Creation Types
| **Creations** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| Rings & Bands | Simple to ornate finger rings in a variety of metals. Frequently used as conduits or focus points for enchantments due to their contact with skin. |
| Necklaces & Pendants | Worn at the throat or chest; often the focal centerpiece of magical amulets or holy symbols. |
| Bracelets & Armlets | Wrist and upper-arm adornments. May incorporate functional clasps, spring mechanisms, or hidden compartments. |
| Brooches & Pins | Fastening jewelry used to secure cloaks, sashes, and formal wear. Practical and decorative in equal measure. |
| Enchanted Jewelry | Magically attuned pieces that serve as focus items, grant ability bonuses, or store activated spell effects. The most complex and valuable of all jewelry creations. |
### Ingredient Types
| **Ingredients** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| 🞛 Cut & Set Stones | Faceted, polished, or carved gemstones ready for mounting. Processed from raw gems through cutting, grinding, and polishing. The cut determines brilliance; an imprecise cut reduces value and magical potential. |
| 🞚 Raw Gemstones & Metals | Uncut rough gems, raw gold, silver, platinum, and electrum. Found through mining, purchased from gem merchants, or recovered as treasure. |
| 🞜 Setting Compounds & Alloys | Precise metallic alloys, solder, binding agents, and prong or bezel stock used for stone setting, metal joining, and magical attunement. Incorrect alloy ratios can cause brittle settings or reduce magical conductivity. |

### Performing Jewelcrafting
> [!faq]- Jewelcrafting Creation Example
> To craft a ***Ring of the Warding Stone***, an Uncommon ring that grants its wearer a +1 bonus to Constitution saving throws, follow the steps below:
>
> **1. Gather ingredients**
> The ingredients for a Ring of the Warding Stone are:
> 🞜 Silver-Iron Solder Alloy (Setting Compound)
> 🞛 Faceted Hearthstone (Cut & Set Stone)
> 🞚 Raw Hearthstone Rough
> For this example, we'll assume the Silver-Iron Solder Alloy has been purchased from a metalsmith.
>
> **2. Roll a jewelcrafting check to determine the quality of the setting and cut.**
> The DC is equal to...
> *the rarity of the creation* — *your jeweler level* — *your [[Abilities#Dexterity|Dexterity]] modifier* (minimum of 0) — *your proficiency bonus* (only if proficient with Jeweler's Tools)
> - Upon success, you waste no materials and the ring is set to full specification.
> - Upon [[#Failing A Jewelcrafting Check|failure]], you waste materials and the process takes longer.
>
> **3. Cut and polish the stone.**
> In this case, you succeed and now need to facet a ***Hearthstone*** from raw rough, which costs 1d6 *Hearthstone Rough Pieces* — *Dexterity modifier* (minimum of 0) per ring.
>
> **4. Add remaining ingredients.**
> All other listed ingredients are consumed at a 1-to-1 ratio unless otherwise stated.
> In this example, 1 portion of Silver-Iron Solder Alloy is consumed.
### Failing A Jewelcrafting Check
On a failed jewelcrafting check, roll a *jewelcrafting die* — *your jeweler level* to see how many ingredients are lost (resulting in a minimum of 1). You must roll separately for both *cut & set stones* and *raw gemstones & metals*. For time wasted (resulting in a minimum of 1 hour), roll a *jewelcrafting die* — *your proficiency bonus* (only if you are proficient with Jeweler's Tools).

Jewelcrafting techniques for enchanted pieces are closely guarded within goldsmith guilds and arcane jeweler circles. Known reference works include:
