## Description
You choose an area of stone or mud up to 40 feet on a side within range and choose one of the following effects.
**Rock to Mud** — Nonmagical rock of any sort in the area becomes thick, flowing mud. If you cast the spell on a ceiling, the mud falls. Any creature in the area when the mud falls must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes **4d8 bludgeoning damage** on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. It also becomes restrained by the deep mud and must use its action to make a Strength check against your spell save DC to free itself each turn. The mud remains until removed by the *Mud to Rock* effect of this spell. A creature that enters the mud must also make the Strength check and takes the damage.
**Mud to Rock** — Nonmagical mud or quicksand in the area no more than 10 feet deep solidifies into rock or earth. Any creature in the mud when it solidifies is restrained by the rock. The restrained creature can break free by using its action to make a DC 20 Strength (Athletics) check or by dealing 15 damage to the rock around it.
